Bafana Bafana midfielder Thulani Serero played 90 minutes as Ajax Amsterdam beat SC Heracles Almelo 3-0 at the Amsterdam Arena. Striker Danny Hoesen gave Serero's side an early lead when he opened the scoring in the second minute. Viktor Fischer then doubled Ajax's lead when he got on the score-sheet in the 56th minute before Davy Klaassen wrapped up the win for the South African's team.
South African goalkeeper Darren Keet's KV Kortrijk played out to a 1-1 draw with Pro League strugglers OH Leuven. Keet conceded a 74th minute goal after teammate Gertjan De Mets was shown a straight red five minutes into the second-half. 10-man Kortrijk then snatched an equaliser four minutes after conceding. The draw sees Keet's team in seventh spot on the log with 26 points after playing 16 games.
Anele Ngcongca played the full game but could not prevent Racing Genk from suffering a 4-0 defeat at the hands of KV Oostende. The right-back played the full game as Genk are now placed third on the Pro League table with 32 points from 16 games.
Bournemouth record signing Tokelo Rantie could not find the back of the net as his side slumped to a 1-0 loss to Derby County and with it suffer back-to-back home losses. The Bafana striker did come close in the 19th minute when he latched onto a defence splitting pass from Lewis Grabban before turning inside Jake Buxton, but he could not find a way past Derby keeper Lee Grant.
