The attacker revealed that he no longer plays 90 minutes for the Red Eagles and is sometimes used as a substitute to prevent injuries and lengthen his season and it appears that Al Ahly's ploy to wrap Tau up in cotton wool as a means of getting the best out of him is working!
Tau was on target again on Sunday as he scored two goals in his side's 3-1 win over Ismaily.
The brace was Tau's fourth goal in two matches played this season as he cemented his place atop the goal scoring charts in Egypt.
Having managed just 10 goals last season, Tau is already closing in on that record, with just seven matches played in all competitions so far.
His form comes at an ideal time for Bafana Bafana head coach Hugo Broos who selected Tau as part of his 23-man squad for international friendlies coming up against Ivory Coast and Eswatini later this week.
