Percy Tau's time at Al Ahly, one of Africa's most prestigious football clubs Al Ahly, is drawing to a close, with reports from Qatar suggesting that the 30-year-old winger is set to conclude a move to Qatar SC in the coming days.

Tau, who made a big-money transfer from Brighton and Hove Albion to Al Ahly in 2021, enjoyed a fruitful period at the club, marked by both personal achievements and collective success.

Soccer Laduma take a closer look at the numbers behind his successful three-year stay with the Egyptian giants.

During his time at Al Ahly, Tau accumulated a total of 8026 minutes on the field. This equals 89 matches for the club, representing approximately 45% of the total matches played by the Egyptians since his arrival.

While his contribution on the pitch was significant, Tau's time at the club was not without challenges, as he missed 56 matches due to injury and rehabilitation periods. Additionally, there were moments when he had to settle for a place on the bench.

Despite missing a number of matches due to injury, Tau made a solid impact in terms of scoring and assisting.

He netted a total of 30 goals for Al Ahly, an impressive return that reflects his ability to contribute offensively. In addition to his goalscoring feats, Tau also registered 14 assists, playing a pivotal role in creating opportunities for his teammates. His link-up play and sharp vision helped elevate Al Ahly's attack during his tenure.

Tau's time at Al Ahly has been adorned with silverware, making him a key figure in the club's trophy-laden years.

Over the course of his three seasons, he helped the club secure 11 championships. Notably, these include the prestigious CAF African Champions League title, the Egyptian Premier League, the Egypt Cup, and both the local and African Super Cups. Tau also played a part in Al Ahly's success at the global level, participating in the FIFA Club World Cup and securing two bronze medals.

Perhaps Tau's most memorable individual campaign came during the 2022/2023 season, when he was crowned the Best Player in Africa for that year. His performances in the CAF Champions League were particularly outstanding, as he played an instrumental role in Al Ahly's conquest of the 2022/2023 title.

Scoring five goals and providing five assists during the campaign, Tau was one of the standout performers in the tournament, contributing significantly to Al Ahly's dominance on the continental stage.
