Percy Tau, according to reports, is understood to have left Egyptian giants Al Ahly after just one season spent in Cairo.
The 28-year-old joined the Red Eagles on a three year deal in August last year, in a transfer understood to be worth ±R30 million.
He started his tenure at the club like a house on fire, scoring five goals in his first six matches under then coach, Pitso Mosimane.
However, the honeymoon phase soon turned sour as injuries plagued the Lion of Judah's time with Al Ahly, while the exit of Mosimane compounded Tau's woes at the club.
Now, according to SuperSport.com, Tau is understood to have parted ways with the club despite having two years left to run on his contract.
There has been no official announcement made from Tau's camp or from Al Ahly, but indications are that the player is set to become a free agent as he ponders the next move of his career.
He made a total of 31 appearances in all competitions for Ahly, scoring eight goals and setting up six assists.
