The former Mamelodi Sundowns attacker was handed a start for Montpellier on Saturday against Lebo Mothiba's Strasbourg.
However, Dolly's evening was cut short after he was on the receiving end of a tackle from Jérémy Grimm and he was taken off after just six minutes.
According to French publication L'Equip, the 25-year-old is expected to be out for several months after suffering a fracture in the fibula of his left leg.
