Life Goes On For Agent After Cutting Ties With Hendrick Ekstein

Life Goes On For Agent After Cutting Ties With Hendrick Ekstein

While life is going on for football agent Palesa Mkhize after he was dumped by former Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Hendrick Ekstein who plies his trade in Azerbaijan at Sabail FC, the representative has refused to disclose the reasons for parting ways with the Bekkersdal-born player.

The intermediary is disappointed about the turn of events after he brokered the deal for the attacking midfielder to Azerbaijan when he first went there to join Sabah in July last year.

"I must be a man of principles and I'd rather not saying anything about it. If I say anything, it's going to open a can of worms and it's not going to be nice. I also ruined relationships with a lot of clubs because of him and it's not nice. I was trying to protect his interests," said Mkhize.

"The club he is playing for now, he was supposed to have gone to that club in the first place. I worked hand in hand with Bevan (Dicks) and we got that deal for him to go there. But he refused! He said he wasn't going there and that he was waiting for a deal in South Africa. I forced him to go there. I convinced him and said, 'Listen man, this is your chance to go to Europe. This is a chance for you to go and start afresh. This is your chance to go there and showcase your talent and I've got no doubt that you will make it there.' But you know European teams, once you delay (they move on), and the deal fell through," he added.

"Another agent called me and said he's got another deal, which was from Sabah. I said no problem and we did everything and in three days we were done. They sent the flight ticket and he went to Europe. I was not actually surprised when he signed for Sabail (in January under a different agent), because that was the first club that he was supposed to have gone to. Sabail plays Champions League, while Sabah sometimes finishes third from bottom of the log and things like that. So, Sabail is a bigger club. That's where Michael Essien is playing as well," the representative concluded.
