Thulani Serero had more possession (8.5%) and made more passes (76) and more accurate passes (68) than anyone else on the field as Vitesse secured a fifth place in the Eredivisie last night following their 3-1 win over VV Venlo.
The victory set up a play-off tie against FC Groningen in the Eredivisie's UEL qualifier, where the two teams will face each other over two legs before taking on either FC Utrecht or Heracles for a spot in the UEL qualifiers in the 2019/20 season.
Serero's Vitesse teammate, Martin Ødegaard, has had a superb season while on loan from Real Madrid, and got a goal and an assist against Venlo before 'Cream' set up the third to finish the job and bag that fifth place position.

A good end to the season could be a big confident boost for the midfielder ahead of this year's African Cup of Nations in Egypt, especially after such a strong season in the Netherlands where he was almost ever-present, playing 31 of their 34 league games.
