In Demand: UAE Giants Enter The Race For Pitso?

Pitso Mosimane's future at Iranian club Esteghlal remains uncertain, as reports have emerged suggesting that UAE-based Sharjah FC may be weighing up a potential move for the South African coach.

This comes amid growing speculation, particularly from Iranian media, that Egyptian giants Zamalek are keen to bring Mosimane back to the African continent.

Mosimane, who has enjoyed considerable success in both Africa and the Middle East, has previously managed Al Ahly, winning multiple CAF Champions League titles, and has also had a stint with UAE side Al Wahda. His time in the UAE has undoubtedly given him valuable insight into the region's footballing culture, making him a well-known figure there.

Now, as talks regarding his contract renewal with Esteghlal remain inconclusive, Sharjah FC may see an opportunity to add the experienced coach to their ranks.

While Sharjah's interest has yet to be confirmed, the club's ambitions in the UAE Pro League are no secret. With the team regularly competing for top honours domestically and in continental competitions, the leadership at Sharjah could be eyeing Mosimane as a coach who can bring them closer to their goal of further regional dominance.

However, Mosimane himself has made it clear that he is open to staying at Esteghlal, provided the club offers him a new contract.

Speaking about his current situation, he revealed that although he had spoken to the club's president, there has been no formal offer on the table yet. Despite this, he remains positive about his prospects at Esteghlal, expressing his desire to continue helping the team evolve.

However, with Zamalek reportedly keen on bringing Mosimane back to Egypt, and Sharjah possibly entering the fray, the coach's future is anything but settled. The interest from multiple clubs across different regions suggests that Mosimane has multiple options available, and it remains to be seen whether he will remain in Iran or look elsewhere for his next challenge.
