George Lebese's adventure in the United States of America officially got underway last night, but how did his debut for Colorado Springs Switchbacks go?

Lebese completed a surprise move to the USA late last year, and has spent the past couple of months trying to impress South African head coach, Alan Koch, in order to force his way into their starting XI.

Last night, after a number of friendlies in preparation for the 2020 United Soccer League season, the Switchbacks got off to a winning start against OKC Energy as they picked up a 2-1 victory to open their account for the campaign.
Their South African signing was handed a starting berth for the game by Koch as they picked up three points away from home, and Lebese was involved in the build-up to the opening goal after being deployed on the right-hand side of midfield.

The 31-year-old former Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns man went on to complete the full 90 minutes in Oklahoma as the Switchbacks ended the first gameweek in third place, and will now turn his attentions to next week's clash with San Antonio in their first home game of 2020.
