Dino Ndlovu Has A Warning For South Africans

Dino Ndlovu

He's almost a week into his two-week quarantine in China, and Bafana Bafana international, Dino Ndlovu, has a warning for those not taking the Coronavirus threat seriously.

South Africa began a 21-day lockdown on Thursday evening as President Cyril Ramaphosa looked to 'flatten the curve' of infection by shutting down the country for three weeks as the amount of positive tests continues to rise in the country.

Dino Ndlovu, who plays for Zhejiang Greentown, recently had to leave his family behind in Mzansi to return to work as China looks to restart their football season in the next month or so – a decision that he admits was a hard one to make given the situation.

Soccer Laduma spoke to the 30-year-old forward about his situation in quarantine, his experiences when arriving back in China during the pandemic, and what he's got to say to those people who still aren't taking the lockdown seriously.

Speaking from his home in Asia, Ndlovu told SL, "We need to work together, because alone we cannot do anything. Please, South African people, listen. This thing is serious, lets take it seriously. It can be worse…

"It's not easy, but if we're going to be irresponsible then it's going to go from 21 days to three months, and it's going to be like hell."
