Dean Solomons And Leo Thethani Will Stay Put In Europe Doing The Lockdown

Dean Solomons And Leo Thethani Will Stay Put In Europe Doing The Lockdown

It has been confirmed to the Siya crew that two South African players currently on the books of Ajax Amsterdam are set to remain in the Netherlands due to current COVID-19 lockdown.

The Siya crew reported in the past weeks that Dean Solomons and Leo Thethani will be returning to Mzansi after the Dutch Eredivisie season was called off due to the COVID-19 lockdown extended-ban on public events in the Netherlands.

Both Solomons and Thethani are set to see their contracts with Ajax Amsterdam come to an end on June 30, and as things stand, the duo will be moving on from the Dutch giants.

Solomons has since made it on the radar of both Stellenbosch FC and Cape Town City as well as a club in Germany, while Thethani is being linked with a move to Italian giants, AC Milan.

As things stand, it seems that both Solomons and Thethani will be making moves elsewhere in Europe and as a result, the duo opted against returning to South Africa, in case interested suitors make an approach.

Returning to Mzansi would mean that they would be quarantined and it could take a while before they are able to fly back out to Europe due to the current ban on international travel during the COVID-19 lockdown restrictions.

"They are not coming home because the minute they come home, they can't fly back to Europe. They are staying in Amsterdam. With regards to their moves, we are waiting until the respective seasons come to an end in Germany and Italy," the players' representative, Jerome McCarthy revealed to the Siya crew.
