The retired 37-year-old, who finished second top scorer in the Premier League during his first season at Blackburn Rovers in 2006/07, has made the Top 10 list as revealed by Opta.
McCarthy scored 37 goals Premier League goals in 109 games for the Rovers between 2006 and 2010.
He ended his debut season with 18 goals and followed this up with eight, 10 and one goal respectively before leaving the Rovers to join West Ham in 2010.
