AS Monaco Recall SA Teenager

AS Monaco Recall SA Teenager

Following his loan spell in Belgium for the 2019/20 season, striker Lyle Foster's next move has been confirmed.

The teenager is now expected to return back to parent club AS Monaco in France and look to work his way into the first team having been sent to Cercle Brugge at the start of the campaign for more regular game-time.

"Lyle has returned to AS Monaco for pre-season training. The club has a different manager now in former Spanish national team head coach, Robert Moreno from when Lyle was there at the beginning of the season (before he went on loan to Cercle Brugge)," his agent Glyn Binkin confirmed to the Siya crew.

The 19-year-old junior international joined French Ligue 1 outfit in January last year from Orlando Pirates in a move celebrated by the Mzansi football fraternity as the teenager rubbed shoulders with the likes of Cesc Fabregas, Falcao and Stevan Jovetic – the legendary Thierry Henry was also the manager at the time, but was sacked weeks later.

Foster trained with the first team to get used to his new surroundings at the time, but was sent to the Belgian Jupiler League for more minutes.

A total of 21 games in all competitions suggests the objective was achieved, though Foster will be disappointed he only got on the scoresheet once.

"We will monitor how the pre-season goes and be guided by the club as well in terms of what will be best for him and his development in respect of the 2020/2021 season because Lyle is still only 19. He has been training hard during lockdown and is positive ahead of the start of pre-season this week," said Binkin.
