Tembo Makes Transfer Plea After Loss To Sundowns

Tembo Makes Transfer Plea After Loss To Sundowns

Richards Bay head coach Kaitano Tembo says the club desperately need to sign a striker before the transfer window slams shut.

The Natal Rich Boyz remain without a win after four matches following their 1-0 loss to Mamelodi Sundowns on Wednesday evening.

The former SuperSport United tactician says he will leave the decision-making to the boss, but says they do need to reinforce the strike force.

"Hey, look it's something I'll let the boss to make the decision but for now I think upfront we need someone," Tembo told SuperSport after the game.

"We really need someone who can really start giving us goals and give us that outlet that we're lacking.

"You can see that we're trying to get there but we don't have a proper outlet that can give us direction."

Tembo was pleased with the fighting spirit his side displayed against the DStv Premiership but says the decision-making in the final third was a let down.

"Look, it was difficult, it's always gonna be difficult (against Sundowns) but I thought we gave as much as we could. I think we had our own moments but I thought especially in the final third the decision-making, maybe the final ball (let us down)," he said.

"But we played against a quality side that you can't give too much space, especially on the ball. Their movements sometimes gave us a lot of problems, probably they could have scored another goal with the way they got behind us.

"But I was happy with fight. I thought we fought but we just need a little bit of quality, especially upfront we're lacking," he said.
