Former Marumo Gallants assistant coach Mpho Maleka remains focused on pursuing his coaching badges, with the Siya crew having learnt of enquiries that have been made about the mentor.
After parting ways with the club at the end of 2021, the former well-travelled striker has been hard at work as he looks to get his CAF B Licence under his belt.
However, sources close to the coach have confirmed that there have been a number of enquiries made from no less than two clubs in the DStv Premiership about his services, with a view of roping him in ahead of the new season.
"Mpho Maleka is one of the coaches that are currently doing their badges through the Zambian FA as there is issues with the SAFA manuals as we all know. He is fully focused on that, as it would allow him to coach nearly any team in the DStv Premiership, where there has been interest in his services already. While the names of these clubs cannot be revealed now, there are two possible options for him to become an assistant coach in the topflight next season," a well-placed source told this publication.
Maleka has served under both Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila and Gallants as an assistant coach to Dan Malesela, Sébastien Migné, Dylan Kerr and Romain Folz, notably helping the team win the 2020/21 Nedbank Cup.
