Orlando Pirates striker Justin Shonga might have played his last match for the Soweto giants this season.
With Pirates left with only three matches in the 2019/20 season, the club is yet to confirm the return of Shonga after he was excluded from the squad in the biological safe environment, after breaching team protocols along with Thembinkosi Lorch.
In confirming the return of Lorch last week, following the finalisation of the disciplinary proceedings against him, the Buccaneers announced that Shonga remained suspended.
"The club can confirm that Justin Shonga remains suspended as he awaits the finalisation of the disciplinary proceedings against him," Pirates confirmed last week.
Shonga has made three starts in the league for Bucs and his limited game-time has been a concern back home in Zambia as he is one of their national team's top strikers.
Former Pirates coach Milutin Sredojevic – who is the head coach of Chipolopolo, has reiterated the importance of game-time for Shonga and his Bucs teammate and countryman Augustine Mulenga.
