Pirates In Unlikely Pursuit Of Striker?

Pirates In Unlikely Pursuit Of Striker?

In pursuit of further bolstering their squad, Orlando Pirates are believed to have another player in their sights although it is understood they might be in a tight corner with regards acquiring his signature.

The Buccaneers have a few of the attacking players in their books facing uncertain future, with the indications that they might be seen as surplus to requirements under coach Jose Riveiro in planning for next season.

Some of those players include Cameroonian striker Bienvenu Eva Nga, who has fallen down the pecking order in the Spanish coach's selections, as well as Ghanaian Kwame Peprah who is on loan at Maritzburg United.

Furthermore, Cameroonian striker Souaibou Marou has failed to hit the ground running, having made only three substitute appearances of no longer than 40 minutes since arriving in January as a high profile signing.

Bucs also have Ndumiso Mabena appearing to be facing uncertain future after he made only one substitute appearance since his surprise return to the club in the previous transfer window.

In planning to beef up for the new season, news reaching the Siya crew is that Pirates have been keeping tabs on Ranga Chivaviro who has been doing well for Marumo Gallants in the DStv Premiership this season and in CAF Confederation Cup.

Having previously done deals with Gallants for Miguel Timm and Ndabayithethwa Ndlondlo last year, the Soweto giants are believed to be willing to pursue the signature of Chivaviro whose three goals in the 3-1 win over Chippa United last night moved him up to 14 goals in all competitions for the season.

"Ranga from Marumo Gallants is being monitored by Pirates and there's interest to sign him for next season," confirmed the source.

"However, the player is also being monitored by Richards Bay. In fact, there is a possibility that there must be an agreement already in place for the player to move to KZN next season," concluded the source.
