While their dominance on home soil remains unchallenged, their close-call stumble in the final of the continental competition appears to have cost them ground in the IFFHS system.

Perhaps the most eye-catching entry is Stellenbosch FC, who make their debut in the African top 20. Stellies are now 17th in Africa and 289th worldwide, with 80.25 points.
The Cape Winelands-based club has seen a remarkable rise over the past two seasons, earning a spot in next season’s CAF Confederation Cup after finishing third in the league. Their dynamic young squad and fearless approach have seen them punch above their weight, earning recognition well beyond South African borders.
At the summit of the African rankings, Egyptian giants Pyramids FC lead the way with 213.5 points, followed by Al Ahly SC (209 points) and Zamalek SC (170 points), affirming Egypt’s continued dominance in club football across the continent.
