Makhanya: Supporters are spiritual owners of the club

Makhanya: Supporters are spiritual owners of the club

Orlando Pirates legend Joseph Makhanya believes supporters have every right to march if they are not happy with what is happening at their club.

Just under two weeks after Kaizer Chiefs supporters marched to Naturena to raise their concerns over the way the club is operating and failing to win trophies in the last six years, Orlando Pirates fans have been motivated to plan a peaceful march to express their disappointment over the recent form of the Buccaneers.

Makhanya has expressed his support for the march and believes the current form of the club is not convincing.

"The fact that fans are planning something, it is good for the club and something that really needed. They need to be heard as supporters, if you look at the recent form of Pirates they are not convincing," Makhanya tells the Siya crew.

"This season they are not the Pirates we know. They are not stable and not giving hope to fans. It is even hard to even watch them at the moment, despite having quality players."

Dukuduku says current players must be reminded what it means to be part of the club.

"Fans have a right to march because they are spiritual owners of the club. If the club not doing well, it affects them spiritually, even during our playing day0,s they used to visit us in training to call us in order.

"At the end of the day players must be reminded what it means to play for Pirates, fans have a right to send a strong message if they are not happy with the club."
