Insider: Lorch Update For Pirates, Pule Nears Return?

Thembinkosi Lorch of Orlando Pirates challenged by Nyiko Mobbie of Sekhukhune United FC during the 2023 Nedbank Cup Final match between Orlando Pirates and Sekhukhune United FC on 27 May 2023 at Loftus Versfeld Stadium

Behind the scenes, Orlando Pirates attacker Thembinkosi Lorch has been working very hard in preparing himself for his long-awaited return to action and the club's supporters and his fans can be hopeful.

Lorch is one of the stars that has yet to feature for Pirates along with Vincent Pule and Ben Motshwari. The latter player has since signed for AmaZulu as confirmed by the Durban-based club earlier this week.

There has been no official confirmation on when Lorch is expected to be considered for selection after he too was delayed by injury.

The 30-year-old is yet to make any of coach Jose Riveiro's matchday squads so far this season as Bucs have been involved in three different competitions with the Premiership, MTN8 and CAF Champions League.

"Like any other player, Lorch continues to work hard in training and is injury-free at the moment," said the source.

"It is difficult to predict the line-ups as that is the duty of the coach to select the team but both Lorch and Pule could soon be available to play. It might not be against Sundowns but soon," the source said.
