The Angolan attacker's goal helped the Buccaneers to remain unbeaten in three matches in their tour of Spain so far, having won 2-0 against Sevilla on Monday to add to the 2-2 draw against Plymouth Argyle in their opening match last Friday.
While many of the Bucs stars have raised their hands to show coach Jose Riveiro and the technical team their readiness for the upcoming season with their impressive performances, there has been more excitement among the Pirates faithful about the arrival of Gilberto, with ex-striker James Mothibi approving of it.
"Gilberto is a very good player, and in welcoming him I would like to say that what is important to do is to respect the brand of Orlando Pirates, respect the family he comes from, respect the people of Angola that he is representing, as well as to respect himself and what he is doing," he said.

"Orlando Pirates are a big team that gives you a chance to shine, because if he does well, he will be one of the heroes for the club. I wish him an injury-free season so that he can focus on doing well for the club. I saw him how he played and was impressed with how he has adjusted to the team, and I think he has a bright future with the club. He will do well. Welcome to the Happy People," concluded Mothibi.
