FIFA Break To Help Orlando Pirates In Monitoring Injured Stars

FIFA Break To Help Orlando Pirates In Monitoring Injured Stars

Orlando Pirates will hope to have some of the team's players make notable progress during the FIFA international break for a potential return to the team, possibly before the end of the year.

The Buccaneers have had some of the team's top players missing from action for the better part of the 2021/22 DStv Premiership season so far, owing to injuries.

The likes of Thembinkosi Lorch and Zakhele Lepasa are some of the players that have been yet to get a chance to impress co-coaches Mandla Ncikazi and Fadlu Davids due to respective injuries.

Lepasa has been out since December last year due to the ankle fracture he suffered against Chippa United, while Lorch was said to have suffered a freak shoulder injury at home.

Prior to last weekend's Soweto derby match against Kaizer Chiefs, there had been some positive feedback from the Pirates camp regarding some of the injuries, with Ncikazi confirming at the time that some of the players have been busy with their rehabilitation, with signs that they have been working on making their way back to full training.

Both Lorch and Lepasa are some of the players that are undergoing their rehabilitation, while Wayne Sandilands is also recovering as confirmed by Ncikazi.

Though still unavailable, Richard Ofori is believed to have made some progress on his recovery, while Innocent Maela is said to be not very far from recovery.

After undergoing surgery, veteran defender and captain Happy Jele will be expected to be on the side-lines while he will be working on his recovery in the coming days.
