Orlando Pirates are faced with goalkeeping concerns just days before the start of the new season and former captain Edward Motale has reflected on the club's exceptional shot-stoppers in years gone by.

The Soweto giants are racing against time to finalize the goalkeeping department as the club is set to open the new season with a league game against rivals Swallows, on 6 August at Orlando Stadium.
Richard Ofori, Pirates' new vice-captain, is currently recovering from an injury, and veteran keeper Wayne Sandilands was released from his playing contract in June.
This leaves Pirates with only two goalkeepers, the experienced Siyabonga Mpontshane, who recently signed a one-year deal, and 22-year-old Kopano Thuntsane, who is yet to taste of topflight football.
Motale, affectionately known as 'Magents', believes the shot-stopping department is one of Pirates' prized possessions, having had some good goalkeepers in the past.
"We have had some proper goalkeepers at the club. Goalkeepers who won matches for us," Motale told the Siya crew.
"I think Pirates should sign one more goalkeeper to strengthen that department, as going into the new season with only two goalkeepers is not ideal."
