Orlando Pirates defeated Sevilla 2-0 in a pre-season friendly.

Orlando Pirates recorded a 2-0 win over LA LIGA outfit Sevilla in their second pre-season encounter on Monday night.

Coach Jose Riveiro made a few changes from the side started the draw against Plymouth Argyle, with Thabiso Sesane, Miguel Timm, Thalente Mbatha and Karim Kimvuidi brought into the side.

The game's first opening fell to the Buccaneers on ten minutes when Monnapule Saleng was slipped through on goal but with only the goalkeeper to beat, the winger struck upright from close range

It was the Soweto giants who got the breakthrough after 21 minutes when Timm got on the end of Relebohile Mofokeng's corner and converted at the near post.

After a quiet opening to the game, Sevilla enjoyed more of the ball as the first half went on and nearly levelled matters around 34 minutes through Chidera Ejuke's powerful strike that crashed against the woodwork.

Riveiro, for the second game in a row, changed the entire starting line-up for the second period as new fans got their first sighting of new signing Gilberto, who joined the camp last week.

Sevilla made a few changes of their own for the second period, with a few of the regulars brought on including, Adria Pedrosa, Lucas Ocampos, Djibril Sow and Tanguy Nianzou.

The changes from both side certainly livened up the contest in the second period, although the Buccaneers did well defensively to stifle Sevilla's attackers in the final third.

While Sevilla struggled to carve out chances, Pirates went on to grab the second goal with eight minutes as Kabelo Dlamini was given and time space to find the top corner from outside the box.

Here's how they line up:

Orlando Pirates: Chaine, Ndah, Sesane, Lebitso, Hotto, Timm, Mbatha, Saleng, Kimvuidi, Mofokeng, Mabasa

Sevilla: Nyland, Jose Angel, Ramon, Kike Salas, Hormigo, Pedro Ortiz, Pablo R., Collado, Suso, Ejuke, Mateo
