Tshepo Matete Is Adamant That This Is Bakgaga's Year

Baroka FC dribbling-wizard, Tshepo Matete, attributes Bakgaga's great form to their hard work as a team and good management style.

Speaking to Soccer Laduma in an exclusive interview in edition 969, the YouTube sensation, insisted that 2016 would prove to be the year for Baroka.

"I believe this is Baroka's year… it's our moment. We're a hard-working team with good management."

"Our guys are very motivated. With our high work-rate at training, anything is possible. Despite the hot weather here in Limpopo, we're always running," Matete told Soccer Laduma.

The Limpopo based outfit have been experiencing a fairytale run of a late, which could culminate in them clinching a double this season.

Baroka are currently second-placed on the latest NFD standings, with a game in hand over log-leaders, Highlands Park and are also in contention for the Nedbank Cup, having qualified for the semi-final stage.

With five games left to be played in the NFD, Baroka could see themselves achieve promotion to the PSL for the 2016/17 Absa Premiership season.

Their Nedbank Cup journey has seen Kgoloko Thobejane's men put three PSL sides to the sword thus far including Chippa United, Golden Arrows and most recently, Polokwane City.

The PSL giant-killers were drawn against SuperSport United following their 2-0 win over Rise and Shine on Sunday, and Matete has highlighted Baroka's superior fitness as a massive factor in their victories against more fancied PSL opposition.

"There's no rest, which helps us to stay fit and endure the whole 90 minutes… that's our strongest point."

"If we don't make it this time, it's going to be very difficult to do it again," he concluded.
