Pitso Comments On Downs Midfielder's Future

Mohomi

Mamelodi Sundowns head coach Pitso Mosimane has commented on the future of one his midfielders, who has been linked with a move to SuperSport United.

Lucky Mohomi returned to the Sundowns line up as they dumped out of the Nedbank Cup by Chippa United on Saturday.

Mosimane dismissed suggestions that midfielder Lucky Mohomi could leave the club in the January transfer window to seek game time elsewhere.

"Mohomi is our player, he has to come in and play. Andile and Mabunda are injured. We have to keep the captain fresh, he has been playing, he is 33-years [old]. As much as people say we want this player because he hasn't had much game time, come and play the number of games we played for the last five years and tell me if we really need them.

"We have to carry numbers, it's not only us. It's Chiefs [and] Pirates. The season is a little bit abnormal.

"We have not yet decided if we want to let him go. We need him to play football, what if 'Sugar' [Mabunda] is not yet back? Do I really need Mohomi on the bench on Friday? Yes, of course! We need them," the outspoken coach concluded.
