Nedbank Ke Yona Team

Mention the name Minnie Dlamini and adjectives come flooding in – beautiful, sexy, charming, and intelligent. Now 'co-host of the Nedbank Ke Yona Team Search TV show' can be added to that list!    Minnie says, "Presenting the Nedbank Ke Yona Team Search TV series is a great honour for me and I'm thankful for the opportunity that has been given to me by Nedbank. I was discovered through a presenter search and the Ke Yona Team Search process is quite similar. All I remember was that I wanted to win so I could live my dream, therefore I treated the process like it was my only shot," she says, showing a glimpse of the fire that lies beneath her approachable demeanour.    Over and above her impressive grasp of the world of soccer, Dlamini is admired far and wide for her fashion savvy and now, thanks to the Nedbank Ke Yona show, she has discovered that green in all its shades has become her favourite colour. "Green has definitely become my colour of choice. My stylists Charmaine and Khanyi are amazing and have been dressing me for the show. Everything is styled according to my preferences so I always have the final say, but I will still remain within the brief," she says.   As a role model and youth icon, Dlamini is aware that her influence, especially in the style stakes, is far reaching with the youth of Mzansi. But how can one keep up with the trends in an affordable way?   "There are so many great stores in SA that are on top of the trends for very reasonable prices, but you should also not be afraid to revamp some old pieces by mixing them with new seasonal items. In this way you avoid overspending on new items that can end up costing you far more than what you budgeted for" she says.   Being a trendsetter whose work requires her to move in the sporting circles, Dlamini must be a champion of the sports luxe trend that has been dominating runways and window displays since last year. While the trend has been huge within the fashion industry, the inspiration behind it – the athletes themselves – are not known for their great fashion sense, but she has advice for our stars.   "A good, classic wardrobe does not need a lot of items. As long as you have key pieces, you can look trendy and feel good all the time. If I were to dress a soccer player, I'd choose five key items that can be mixed and matched to always create the right aesthetic."    "A man can never go wrong with a great pair of sneakers, a hot watch, a classic pair of aviator sunglasses, a good fitting pair of jeans and a crisp white shirt. Those are my top five staple items for a guy's wardrobe," says Dlamini.   There you have it, straight from the mouth of an award-winning trendsetter.    Like with most things, being fashionable begins with ensuring your finances are in order and that you have a budget that is regularly updated. With the use of Nedbank's 'My Financial Life ™', you are able to monitor your spending, budget, keep track of your money and understand your spending patterns. Combining that financial know how, talent and Minnie's tips to being fashion savvy is just another secret to 'Making The Things That Really Matter Happen'.   Catch the stylish Minnie every Sunday at 14:00 on SABC1 as she takes us through the journey of the Ke Yona Team Search.
