Nedbank Cup Quarter-Final Report: Cape Umoya United v TS Galaxy 27 March 2019

Nedbank Cup   Result: Cape Umoya United 1-2 TS Galaxy    Date: 27 March 2019   Venue: Athlone Stadium    TS Galaxy qualified for their first-ever Nedbank Cup semi-final after defeating fellow National First Division outfit Cape Umoya United 2-1 at Athlone Stadium on Wednesday evening.   Katlego Otladisa almost opened the scoring for the Spirited Ones as early as the third minute with a low strike that was saved by Galaxy goalkeeper Ludwe Mpakumpaku as the home side signalled their intent from the onset.   However, the Mamelodi Sundowns loanee would not be denied the opener after 15 minutes as he guided home a header past Mpakumpaku following a pin-point cross from Brandon Theron on the right wing.   Chances continued to fall for the hosts and Gavin Hammers should have scored the second goal for Dominic Isaac's troops on the half-hour mark, but instead of taking a strike into the gaping net, he opted for a pass and the chance went away.   The Rockets came back to the game a minute before the break after they were awarded a penalty thanks to a handball inside the area by Roscoe Pietersen. Zakhele Lepasa made no mistake from 12-yards out to restore parity for the visitors.   Three minutes into the second half, Yusuf Maart almost restored the lead for the Spirited Oneswith a free-kick from the edge of the box but his threatening strike was parried over the bar by Mpakumpaku.   Lepasa had a glorious opportunity to give Dan Malesela's charges the lead in the 62nd minute after being found free in the box but he guided his strike wide,before Snethemba Ngidi squandered a big chance two minutes later.   The hosts had a chance to level matters in second-half stoppage time, but Mpakumpaku produces a fine save to deny Roscoe Pietersen as Galaxy hung on for the win and a spot in the last four.   Here's how they lined up:
