Nedbank Cup Last 32 Report: Maritzburg United 3-1 Black Leopards 02 March 2016
Nedbank Cup   Result: Maritzburg United 3-1 Black Leopards   Date: 02 March 2016   Venue: Harry Gwala Stadium   Maritzburg United booked their spot in the Nedbank Cup Last 16, after claiming a 3-1 win over Black Leopards at the Harry Gwala Stadium.   The Team of Choice should have opened the scoring after just five minutes when Evans Rusike was played through on goal, but the striker was denied by Avhashoni Tshinuna.   The home side broke the deadlock in the 15th minute courtesy of a sublime finish from Kurt Lentjies on the edge of the box, after a poor clearance from Tshinuna.   Leopards hit back in thw 22nd minute, as Roggert Nyundu tapped home from six-yards out, after some great one-touch play from the visitors.   Kosta Papic's side ended the half the stronger of the two sides, although the score remained level at the halftime break.   Maritzburg goalkeeper, Virgil Vries was forced into a fine save in the 64th minute, before Rusike tested Tshinuna from a tight angle moments later.   The hosts restored their lead in the 70th minute, as Bandile Shandu pounced on a loose ball, before calmly slotting into the far corner.   Ernst Middendorp's charges were then awarded a penalty in the 82nd minute when Rusike was brought down by Thivhavhudzi Ndou, who was shown a straight for the challenge.   Maritzburg skipper, Lentjies stepped and made no mistake from 12-yards out to seal the win and progression into the Last 16.   The other result on the night saw National First Division side, Santos record a 1-0 win over Mthatha Bucks at the Athlone Stadium.   Here's how they lined up:   Maritzburg United: Vries, Teyise, Mogapi, Mngonyama, Maasdorp, Sanoka, Makaringe, Mekoa, Lentjies, Shandu, Rusike    Black Leopards: Tshinuna, Nkoana, Mabotja, Munganga, Mashiane, Shivanbu, Mahangwahaya, Ntshingila, Maphangule, Nyundu, Ndou
