  Wits got off to a slow start and they nearly fell behind on 18 minutes when Robyn Johannes' poor clearance fell to Lesedi Kapinga, who saw his close-range effort saved by Ricardo Goss.   However, the home fans were silenced on 25 minutes when Gift Motupa caught the Leopards defence napping to turn home a cross from Elias Pelembe.   Leopards, meanwhile, were unable to mount any serious attempts in the remaining stages of the half, with the supporters venting their frustration at striker Thokozani Sekotlong.   Wits went close to doubling their advantage shortly after the restart, Simon Murray's flick on was cleared off the line by Rotshidzwa  Muleka.   In an attempt to salvage an equaliser, Leopards coach Dylan Kerr threw Karabo Tshepe for Robert Ng'ambi after 68 minutes, while Majoro replaced Murray for the visitors.   Leopards were eventually level with 10 minutes remaining as Kapinga sent a cross to the far post, where Mwape Musonda was on hand to nod home his 10th goal of the season.   Neither side could find a winning goal in the remaining stages of the second stanza, forcing the encounter into another 30 minutes of extra-time.   Leopards carved out the best chance in the second half of extra-time when Musonda somehow headed over the crossbar with only Goss to beat from six-yards out.   In the end, the match was decided by a penalty shoot-out, where the Clever Boys held their nerve to triumph 3-2.
