Kaizer Chiefs' Ernst Middendorp has revealed how they will be approaching their Nedbank Cup game against The Magic FC today, giving some insight into their gameplan. Read: Chiefs Signing Could Make Amakhosi Debut Chiefs may be 28 places above their ABC Motsepe League opponents at present, but Middendorp has been insistent that they will not be taking this potential banana skin lightly as they look to secure their spot in the quarterfinals of the competition. The Amakhosi find themselves in the midst of a lengthy trophy drought, and will see this as a big chance to try and end that following the exit of both Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns. Speaking to the club's official website, Middendorp explained that Chiefs will be focusing on themselves, not on what the opponent can offer. He said, "We are focusing to capitalize on our strengths… We will do the talking on the pitch. This is another stepping stone that we must follow to advance to the next round. It's a very important match… "We aren't watching much of their setup. We will rely mainly on our strength to unlock and dominate them. We are well prepared to take them on. We are confident that our strength will reign." The German was also pleased to have had some proper time on the training field with his players as their schedule opened up of late, adding, "In recent weeks, we have had time for good periods of training sessions. Certain elements of the game require thorough training sessions. A game is for application and without training you can't apply your tactics and strategies properly. We are getting there. I'm content." Chiefs v the Magic will get underway at 15h00 this afternoon.
