Ernst Middendorp Is Happy Kaizer Chiefs Progressed In The Nedbank Cup

Kaizer Chiefs' Ernst Middendorp says that they are happy to have reached the Nedbank Cup quarter-finals, though admitted that they 'made it difficult' for themselves.    Read: Rested? injured? Why Katsande Missed Out For Chiefs...   The Amakhosi needed extra-time once more as they saw off ABC Motsepe League opposition in the tournament but eventually went on to beat The Magic FC 3-0 thanks to late goals from Daniel Cardoso, Philani Zulu and Khama Billiat.   It didn't look like it was going to be the Glamour Boys' day as they missed numerous chances in normal time against a plucky Magic side, however, when Billiat went down in box and Cardoso fired home the floodgates opened.    Middendorp, who will be confident of going all the way given the teams left in the competition, told the club's official website, "It boiled down to managing the game and our players… We made it difficult for ourselves once again. However, we came here to win the match and that's what happened. We achieved our objective. We have to continue working hard and perfect our play.   "I'm glad we won the match, credit goes to The Magic, they defended deep, especially in the first half, and that made it difficult for us to break them down."   The draw for the quarter-finals will take place on Thursday, with Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns both having been knocked out already.
