Speaking to the media, Maela, who featured as a left-back for Bafana Bafana in the full encounter against Libya in the final AFCON qualifying encounter, maintains that the team and the current national team set-up are in a good frame of mind and are not scared of anyone in the competition.
"I think it's a tough group but I think that it is very important to understand that Bafana Bafana at this point in time, the team, the group, they are in a very good space, the belief is high, and I am confident that the team will go there and do well, definitely we are not scared of anyone but we also understand the importance of preparations," Maela told the media.
"We have a really good technical team and as a player, it gives you confidence and courage, we know that we have a good group and it is just to keep the belief there," he added.
