Chiefs To Splash The Cash In January?

Chiefs To Splash The Cash In January?

Kaizer Chiefs head coach Arthur Zwane has opened up on the club's transfer plans in the January transfer window.

Amakhosi have been left exposed in terms of their squad depth, particularly up front where the injury to Caleb Bonfils Bimenyimana left Chiefs frail in terms of a target man, with no suitable replacement for the Burundi international.

Last week, Zwane revealed that the club is profiling a number of strikers and would be willing to spend the money if they get the right fit.

Following their MTN8 semi-final exit at the hands of AmaZulu, Zwane said his side i still searching for adequate additions to the squad but will not be rushing to sign just any player.

"Ja, obviously we will do proper profiling, we have players who are doing well and we will focus on the positives and not the negatives and at one stage we had an opportunity two weeks back where we had a lot of chances but we did not take them had we got maximum points on that night. It would have been a different ball game because we would have been number one, but like I'm saying, this is a journey," Zwane told members of the media in Durban.

"When it comes to the league itself it's a race and we are running our own race until the last game of the league and then only we'll start doing introspection, look at ourselves, where to improve.

"Obviously, if there is a player who we think is good enough to come and play for Kaizer Chiefs and he is available, we will definitely bring him on board, just to beef up here and there. At the moment, the only thing we need to do is to do it properly, rather than rush into things because we want to give the players who are part and parcel of the team an opportunity to showcase their talent and see how it goes and take it from there," he explained.
