Madonsela Delighted To Return To Maritzburg

Maritzburg United have completed the signing of former Sekhukhune United defender Nkanyiso Madonsela as they look to improve on their performances in the second half of the season.

The 32-year-old has been without a club since leaving Babina Noko at the end of 2022/23 but has bounced back by signing a year-and-a-half contract with the Team of Choice, who have not enjoyed a good season in the second tier.

Speaking to the Siya crew, Madonsela explained how excited he is to play a for a club he knows well from his youth days.

"I am so excited to join Maritzburg. I am looking forward to the remaining games of the season in the Motsepe Foundation Championship. Playing for my hometown team is a good feeling, coming back home. It's a good feeling to represent Maritzburg," he said.

"I am looking forward to this new chapter. I was here during my development days, so I am just honoured to play for the first team after spending some time in Jo'burg. I am looking forward to the challenge."

Maritzburg were relegated from the topflight at the end of last season and are currently in 11th place on the standings.
