GladAfrica Championship Wrap

Richards Bay FC took another huge step towards automatic promotion from the GladAfrica Championship after cruising to a 3-0 win over Polokwane City, whereas TS Sporting and Jomo Cosmos came a cropper against Cape United and Cape Town All Stars respectively.

Furthermore, Sekhukhune United were stunned 1-0 at home by struggling Cape Town Spurs, for whom Mpho Kgaswane got the winner.

Rise and Shine were no match for the Natal Rich Boyz, who took the lead just before half time via Lwandle Mabuya's tricky move and although Johnny Ferreira's outfit tried to make amends, the issue was put beyond doubt by Simo Dladla's clever substitutions.

That's when Paseka Sekese and Siyabonga Vilane secured a 38th point for the KZN club, while also boosting their goal difference to +12.

The Spirited Ones lambasted on-form Abantu Bemthetho 5-0 in Parow, where Roscoe Pietersen's two penalties, Eyona Ndondo's brace and a single strike from Tshepo Matsemela seriously dented the visitors' confidence.

Thanks to the Waseem Isaacs, Igugu Lekapa also grabbed 3 valuable points with a 1-0 victory of Ezenkosi, which leaves Dr Sono's club mid-table and nine points behind top spot.

Royal AM lost momentum too after recording a 1-1 draw against Free State Stars.

At the King Zwelithini Stadium, Clinton Larsen's Bizana Pondo Chiefs got off to a flying start by bagging 2 goals inside the opening 4 minutes before crumbling to a 3-2 defeat at the hands of University of Pretoria.

Lerato Manzini and Musa Bilankulu (penalty) gave We Hunt To Kill a huge initiative but a 10-man AmaTuks fought back triumphantly through Athenkosi Dlala's free kick and team captain, Samuel Julies, who netted twice.

JDR Stars kept their play-off spot alive with a 1-0 win over Pretoria Callies when Sephelo Baloni scored in the first half as the Romans went down for an eighth occasion.

At the other end of the log, Steenberg United hit the high notes by overpowering Uthongathi FC 2-1.

Steenberg's veteran Lesvin Stoffels was against on target, while Carlington Nyadomba got his name on the scoresheet for the first time.
