BREAKING: Durban City Promoted, Spurs Relegated

Durban City have secured promotion to the Betway Premiership on the final day of the season.

Before the game, Spurs announced that they are playing the game under protest, claiming that City are fielding an ineligible player in Saziso Magawana.

Check out Durban City's celebrations in Cape Town.

City had to wait until the 44th minute for the opening goal when Ruzaigh Gamildien found the back of the net with a lovely header for his seventh goal of the season.

Ernst Middendorp's charges had chances to pull themselves, but they were denied by the woodwork on two occasions.

Spurs were unable to find a way past the City defece, as the hosts held on for the win to clinch Motsepe Foundation Championship title while Spurs have been relegated to the third tier.

While City have finished top of the table, the Premier Soccer League already confirmed this week that there will be no trophy handover due to a pending case.

Orbit College 0-0 Leruma United

Orbit College secured a spot in the play-offs despite playing to a goalless draw against relegated-Leruma United on Sunday afternoon.

Orbit were unable to find the back of the net but a point was enough to seal second spot on the final day of the season.

Casric Stars clinched the final spot in the play-offs after defeating Hungry Lions 2-1 on Sunday afternoon.

Lions took the lead in the 49th minute through Tshepang Selemogo.

However, Stars pulled level in the 91st minute thanks to Lesego Sebetlela before Kermit Erasmus popped up with the winning goal four minutes later to seal third spot for Stars.
