In documents seen by Soccer Laduma, the club is seeking to overturn a previous decision made in arbitration that dismissed their protest. Spurs are now asking the court to review and set aside that outcome, and to instead declare the player ineligible and award a 3–0 victory in their favour.
According to the notice of motion, the club also wants the National Soccer League to be compelled to update the 2024/25 season log standings accordingly, removing the original on-field result and implementing the revised scoreline.
The matter is set down to be heard on Tuesday, 17 June 2025.
This application, if successful, could have a significant impact on the final league standings and potentially affect both promotion and relegation scenarios. Spurs are also requesting that the costs of the legal proceedings be borne by the respondents who oppose the application.
It is important to note that the matter is still before the court and a final ruling is yet to be made. However, the move signals Spurs’ intent to fight what they believe to be an administrative injustice that has major consequences for their campaign.
