Nedbank Cup Last 32 Starting XI: Stellenbosch v Maritzburg United 07 February 2020

Stellenbosch FC and Maritzburg United switch their focus to the Nedbank Cup when they lock horns in the last 32 on Friday evening at Athlone Stadium.

The match is scheduled to get underway at 19h30.

Stellies saw their three-game winning run come to an end on Sunday after going down 2-1 to Black Leopards on Sunday afternoon.

The Western Cape outfit reached the semi-finals of this tournament in 2015 campaigning in the National First Division (now known as GladAfrica Championship) but were knocked out by eventual winners Mamelodi Sundowns.

The last time Stellies participated in the tournament proper was in 2018, where they reached the last 16 but lost out on a quarter-final place to Kaizer Chiefs.

Meanwhile, the Team of Choice are not in their best form, having claimed only one win from their last five matches in the league although their last outing ended in a 1-1 draw against Cape Town City.

Maritzburg were on the cusp of winning their first major silverware after reaching the final of this tournament in 2018 but they lost 1-0 to Free State Stars.

United were knocked out in the first round last season by Witbank Spurs, who won on penalties after iit ended 2-2 draw in extra-time.
