SuperSport made further coaching changes in the off-season after Andre Arendse led them to an eighth-placed finish as interim coach towards the end of last season, after the club parted ways with Kaitano Tembo.
Matsatsantsa eventually appointed for Hunt, who returns for his second spell after a successful first stint.
The Tshwane side have retained the majority of the squad from last season, although they had two major departures in goalkeeper Ronwen Williams and Sipho Mbule, who both joined Mamelodi Sundowns.
In turn, SuperSport got three players on loan from Sundowns, shot-stopper Ricardo Goss, Grant Margeman and Thabang Sibanyoni alongside new signing Thulani Hlantshwayo, who joined after he left Orlando Pirates.
Chippa, on the other hand, will also have a new coach in the dugout after they appointed Daine Klate in place of Kurt Lentjies, who helped the club escape relegation after they finished in 14th spot on the log last term.
Klate, who has played under Hunt at SuperSport, Bidvest Wits and Chippa, will be making his debut as a coach in top flight football after two seasons coaching the club's DStv Diski Challenge team.
The Chilli Boys have bolstered the side with at least 17 new players, although most of them do not have experience in the Premiership.
Chippa also lost the services of Bienvenu Eva Nga, who joined Orlando Pirates, Riaan Hanamub and Veluyeke Zulu both to AmaZulu.
