DStv Premiership Starting XI: Mamelodi Sundowns v Stellenbosch FC 14 May 2020

DStv Premiership champions Mamelodi Sundowns will host Stellenbosch in their final home match of the season on Saturday afternoon.

Teams: Mamelodi Sundowns v Stellenbosch FC

Date: 14 May 2020

Venue: TUKS Stadium

Time: 15h00

Sundowns secured their fifth title in a row with four matches to spare and will be chasing their tally of 67 points they posted last season after they were held to a 1-1 by Kaizer Chiefs the last time out.

The Brazilians are currently on 62 points and need to win their last two games to surpass the 67-point mark, which was the highest points tally in the Premier Soccer League-era before they set the new record of 71 points in the 2015/16 campaign.

The Tshwane giants will also be playing their last home game before they are handed the trophy against Royal AM at Chatsworth Stadium in Durban next weekend.

Stellies, meanwhile, damaged their chances of clinching a CAF position on the log after back-to-back draws against SuperSport United and Maritzburg United.

Steve Barker's charges are currently sit fifth on the table and are out of contention for a runners-up spot and trail third-placed Royal AM, who have a game in hand by four points.

Getting a CAF Confederation Cup spot, as a result, is no longer in Stellenbosch's hands and a loss will put them out of contention while a win for Thwihli Thwahla in the games that will be played simultaneously will have the same effect.

The Western Cape will be hoping to spoil Sundowns' party after holding them to a 1-1 draw in the reverse fixture.
