The visitors eased their relegation fears on Wednesday through a hard-fought 1-0 win over Golden Arrows in Polokwane, though the victory still left them at the bottom of the log.
Chippa, who were also in action in midweek, couldn't move from 13th position after playing to a goalless draw against the on-form Cape Town City.
Most notably, the Chilli Boys are just three points off the bottom-placed Baroka on the table and a win will all but secure their top flight status for another season.
Baroka no doubt will seek a succession of DStv Premiership wins, which will take them one step closer to beat the drop entirely and they will be boosted by the fact that Swallows drew 2-2 with SuperSport United on Friday evening.
Current Chippa coach Kurt Lentjies started his coaching career this season and his first assignment ended victorious against a certain Baroka in Polokwane.
