Gallants Coach Sets New Target After Chiefs Win

Marumo Gallants head coach Abdeslam Ouaddou has now set his team a new target for the season after defeating Kaizer Chiefs 2-1 on Saturday.

Gallants returned to winning ways in the Betway Premiership after claiming maximum points against the Soweto giants at FNB Stadium.

Ouaddou's initial target was to steer Gallants away from the drop zone but with the team now reaching the 30-point mark, the coach is now targeting a top-half finish with two games left in the season.

“I think it’s a big win for us, I told you we will come here not to park the bus but with the ambition to take three points, we did it,” Ouaddou told SuperSport after the game.

“Today, I have a thought for my players that were very brave since the beginning since two months it was not easy. I have thought for our fans, I have thought for my chairman as well so I think we can say you can see the result.

“I think you can say that the mission is over, but now we have to be more ambitious and maybe we can see the eight, nine, seventh place if we can reach it and to finish well this season.

Ouaddou praised his player's character after coming from behind to secure the win over Chiefs.

“Of course, we were disappointed in the way we conceded the goal.

"I have the feeling that the teams are scoring very easy against us especially in the last four games but it shows that our players have a big character, have a big personality to come back in a game like that with all the fans in front of a big club like that it shows that we have resources,
