Mamelodi Sundowns co-coach Rulani Mokwena praised the collective effort after their 4-0 win over Kaizer Chiefs on Saturday afternoon.
The Brazilians bounced back from the loss to TS Galaxy with a big victory over rivals Chiefs at Loftus Versfeld.
Mokwena felt Themba Zwane and Neo Maema were impressive against the Soweto giants on the day.
"A collective approach, collective performance and just not Peter or Nasir but Mshishi [Zwane] was outstanding. Mshishi was very good, positionally he was magnificent. I think this was the best tactical performance from Neo [Maema] excellent," Mokwena told SuperSport after the game.
"[Aubrey] Modiba took up the right positions. We needed him to be a little bit closer to AJ [Andile Jali] because we needed [Khuliso] Mudau to be a little bit higher.
"And because we needed Mudau to be a little bit higher we needed [Teboho Mokoena] Tebza to be a little bit wider and because we needed that then we needed AJ to have a little more protection from Neo that's why I say Neo was fantastic. Tactically, the best player on the pitch today.
When asked about Ronwen Williams' impact, he added "No, good save from Ronwen. Stable performance from Brian (Onyango) and Rushine (De Reuck). Our rest defence relatively was good because you know that they overload the midfield and look for possibilities with the dodge for Khama and he is very, very good at that.
"The disappointment was that we conceded a penalty from a situation that we knew about. They tried to release Khama and Rushine could've done a little bit better, but it is what is very early in the season.
"We're going to make mistakes, but as always we learn and we get better that's the most important thing."
