Orlando Pirates confirmed yesterday that one of their star midfielder's tested positive for COVID-19 and messages of support continue to pour in.
Ben Motshwari, who's been one of Pirates' key players this season, tested positive for the Coronavirus on Thursday, with the news being confirmed on the same day that the Premier Soccer League held it's Executive Committee meeting to decide the way forward for the 2019/20 campaign.
While the football fraternity are awaiting a decision from the PSL, yesterday's announcement about Motswari reiterated more than ever that the health and safety of our players remains paramount.
Players from all over the PSL have sent out their messages of support to Motshwari and here is what Mamelodi Sundowns head coach, Pitso Mosimane had to say about the 'midfield maestro'.
"Midfield Maestro! Buccaneer, you have too much resistance and strength to withstand this virus. I want to see you back on the pitch doing what you famous for," Mosimane said on his official Twitter account.
Sundowns and Pirates were scheduled to lock horns in the Absa Premiership just a few days before the nationwide lockdown was confirmed back in March and it remains to be seen when it will be safe for the 2019/20 season to resume.
