The Premier Soccer League has confirmed the prize money for the DStv Premiership, the first for the new sponsors.

Mamelodi Sundowns were officially crowned champions at the weekend and claimed a handsome R15-milliion, while the Top 8 positions were also confirmed.

A total of R39.9-million will be shared by all 16 teams in the top-flight, with the Brazilians, as champions, pocketing a chuck of it.

Kaizer Chiefs, runners-up from last season, were in danger of finishing outside the Top 8, but snuck in on the final day after beating TS Galaxy.

They've now secured R1.2-million as a result.

Chippa United will be in the play-offs and Leopards were relegated.
