Disciplinary issues have put Sipho Mbule in the spotlight, and his former coach has advised the Mamelodi Sundowns-bound attacker to learn how to behave like a professional from his close friend Teboho Mokoena.
Mbule and Mokoena have been best mates since their days at the Harmony Academy in Free State, and according to the duo's former coach at the academy, Pitso Mokoena, they complement each other on and off the pitch.
Pitso has suggested that Mokoena's move to Sundowns might have played a role in Mbule's ill behaviour and decline in form at Matsatsantsa but says the attacking midfielder needs to get his act together, be well-behaved.
"He will have to fight at Sundowns for a place, but I know for a fact that Sipho is very talented; he can play football, but my concern is his attitude," Pitso told the Siya crew.
"I had a chat with Teboho two weeks after he joined Sundowns, and he told me that at Sundowns, players work very hard, and there is no one who will nurse your ego.
"Teboho also said that it is not the coach's job to discipline you when you do wrong things; if you come late, the players will tell you where to get off. They mean business, they know why they play for Sundowns."
"With Teboho you never hear bad things about him in the media or anywhere, he is well-behaved, down to earth, and a true professional and Mbule should learn from him."
As reported by the Siya crew, Mbule attempted to force a move away from SuperSport, with Kaizer Chiefs and Sundowns interested in his services, in January. But a move failed to materialise, which seemingly led to the player misbehaving with CEO Stan Mathews questioning his professionalism, stating that Mbule was disrespectful to his teammates.
"I think Mbule will come right, and I also think he will make a good combination with Teboho at Sundowns," added Pitso.
The 24-year-old parted ways with SuperSport and will join rivals Sundowns in the off-season. The gifted midfielder played 100 games for SuperSport, scoring 11 goals and providing 11 assists.
