Mamelodi Sundowns cruised to victory over Al-Arabi in a pre-season friendly on Friday morning, as Abubeker Nasir got his name on the scoresheet.
Sundowns registered a 3-0 victory, a big confidence booster as they prepare to start the MTN8 next season.
Nasir, the Ethiopian international, was out with an injury for all of last season and was tipped to be heading out of the club. But he could still be part of the plans of the technical team and he made a case to stay in the coming campaign when he opened the scoring in only the second minute from the penalty spot.

Sundowns, who have been in Austria for about two weeks now, bagged their second goal of the game through the boot of winger Thapelo Maseko, who finished with his left foot to give the reigning South African champions breathing space.
The Tshwane giants were comfortable on the ball, as the technical team encouraged the players to pass the ball around and move quickly into the opposition half.
It came as no surprise when they netted a third before the break, as Tashreeq Matthews got his name on the scoresheet yet again during the tour of Austria. The Al-Arabi players appealed for offside, but the goal was given as Sundowns took a comfortable lead into the break.
