Mamelodi Sundowns coach Rulani Mokwena has revealed that there will be more changes to the technical team, with two members understood to no longer be part of his backroom staff.

Mokwena was confirmed as Sundowns head coach with two matches left to play before the recently completed FIFA World Cup in Qatar. And he has not taken time to make some changes, with fitness coach Riedoh Berdien and assistant goalkeeper coach Marcus Mashilo no longer forming part of the technical team.

Referring to a report in the media, which stated that Mokwena expelled the two individuals, the coach said it was harsh. But, he went on to further say that there will be more changes to the technical team.

"The choice of word is very important. Expelled is a very strong word. I would refrain from using that word. I'd say it's only normal in any football club that when a head coach is appointment, there are technical changes. It's only normal and for sure the club will make necessary announcements as we go, but to use the word expelled is a little bit extreme," the coach said during a press conference held at Chloorkop on Wednesday.

"It's normal, especially when it's Rulani, we do tend to be extreme. But I understand. It's only normal and there will be even more changes, that's for sure because the club has given me an opportunity, which I am extremely grateful for. They've given me the support which I am extremely grateful for and mine is to reward them and repay them. And part to that is to understand that I need a very strong team because I cannot do it alone.

"That means in the interim is to move in a direction that the club wants to move in because the club will always outlive me and be more important than me."
