"As much as Sundowns are the favourites to win the league this season Pirates have been the closest contenders who have tried to give Sundowns a run for their money. There are only two differences between the two teams. Sundowns have quality and consistency which is what Pirates don't have," Gondwe concluded.
While Pirates may present the most significant challenge, Sundowns' experience and winning mentality position them strongly to defend their title once again. The loss to Bucs will hurt Downs, and it might just be the tonic for them to go on a run of victories that could cement the title in their name.
